Website is UP

It's up, but it won't open for you

The site is working for others, so the problem is likely on your device or network. Try these in order.

  1. Hard refresh the page. Press Ctrl+F5 on Windows or Cmd+Shift+R on Mac.
  2. Clear cache and cookies for that site from your browser settings.
  3. Try a private window or another browser. This rules out extensions and saved data.
  4. Turn off VPN, proxy or ad-blocker for a moment and try again.
  5. Flush your DNS. Windows: ipconfig /flushdns. Mac: sudo dscacheutil -flushcache.
  6. Switch DNS to a public one such as 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8.
  7. Restart your router, or test on mobile data to see if your connection is the issue.
  8. Check for a block. Your ISP, office or school network may restrict the site.
Website is DOWN

It's down for everyone

The problem is on the website's side. There is nothing to fix on your device, but you can do the following.

  1. Wait a few minutes and check again. Most outages are short.
  2. Look for an official update on the site's status page or its social media accounts.
  3. Don't repeat payments or form submissions. A half-finished order may still go through.
  4. Use an archived copy (for example the Wayback Machine) if you only need to read a page.
  5. Get notified when it's back. Set up a scheduled check and we'll alert you by email.

It's your website and it's down

A quick checklist to find the cause and keep visitors informed.

  1. Check your hosting or server panel for outages, resource limits or suspension notices.
  2. Confirm domain and SSL have not expired.
  3. Review DNS records for recent changes pointing to the wrong place.
  4. Read error logs and roll back the most recent deployment or plugin update.
  5. Tell your users through a status page or social post while you fix it.
  6. Add monitoring so you hear about the next outage before your visitors do.

Common questions

How does the checker work?

We send a request to the website and measure whether it responds and how long it takes. If it doesn't answer in time, we mark it as down.

Why does it say "up" when I still can't open it?

The website is reachable from the internet, but something between you and the site is blocking it. Follow the "It's up, but it won't open for you" steps above.

Can I get an alert when a site goes down or comes back?

Yes. Open Scheduled checks, add the website, choose how often to check it, and enter your email.
